Mel Boerema has served with NAIM (North America Indigenous Ministries) as a missionary to the First Nations since 1977 with his wife Sally. Sadly, Sally passed away in November 2022 after a brief illness. While we can rejoice that Sally is now with her Lord and Saviour, whom she served faithfully for many years, Mel is now left without a wife and partner in ministry.
Mel currently continues to serve Piikani Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Brocket, Alberta. Piikani people are part of the Blackfoot Confederation. Piikani Lighthouse is a developing local church that is active in reaching their own community, making disciples of Jesus Christ and reaching out beyond.
