Tech Assistant Job Description

a Tech Assistant. Tech is an important tool for many of our ministries and this role is
important to ensure that worship, events, and outreach are carried out with excellence
and care.
This role is best suited for someone who is both technically skilled and servant-hearted,
someone who thrives behind the scenes, enjoys solving problems, and finds joy in
helping others succeed.

The Tech Assistant will work in partnership and answer to the Associate Pastor for
Worship and Church Ministries. The Tech Assistant supports worship services and
events by managing audio, video, lighting (AVL), and live-streaming systems.
Responsibilities include operating equipment, setting up for services, maintaining tech
inventory, and training volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operation: Set up and run audio, video, and lighting for Sunday
services.
- Manage and troubleshoot the various systems that we rely on in Emmanuel tech
ministry.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AVL equipment, keeping
inventory of consumables.
- Volunteer training and orientation.
- Creative Support: Assist with video filming and editing as needed.
- As technology continues to advance, the successful applicant will be expected to
stay current with emerging technology solutions.
- Support special events (e.g. Bethlehem Star, Pie and Praise) by setting up and
operating equipment. Responsibilities also include providing production support for
funerals and weddings.

- Experience with the following systems would be a huge asset: Pro-presenter; Dante
networks; DMX lighting; Apple and Windows computer systems; Yamaha TF5 sound
board; Blackmagic Design video cameras and components; Pro Tools; Youtube (live-streaming).
- Ability to work weekends and evenings.
Commitment & Schedule
- This is a 20 hour a week role with an hourly rate range between $23-$30 to be
determined upon experience.
- While the job is based on a regular schedule, flexibility is required due to the nature
and timing of church ministry.
- Additional time may be required during major productions or seasonal events (e.g.,
Christmas, Easter).
