Luke 2:1-20
Advent: Hearing, Telling, Going+

This week, pastor Don considers the role the shepherds had in the account of Jesus' birth. Although they would have been considered 'unclean' and in many ways, 'outsiders', God chose them to be the first people to witness what He had done in sending His Son into the world. How amazing to think that God certainly does not choose the wise or rich in this world's eyes, but rather the lowly. They heard what the angel announced, then they told others what they had heard and saw, and then they went back to where they had been, looking after their sheep again and declaring what God had done in sharing this news with them. What about us, what are we doing with this amazing news this Christmas? Are we declaring it to others, sharing what God has done for us and potentially for them too?
