Job 20 and 21. 1 Corinthians 15
Job: A Friend of God - Part 9

Pastor Don digs into Job chapter 20 & 21, where God's word leads us to ask:

"Is there more to this in life?"

"What do we think of when we see the wicked get ahead in life?"

"What happens after death?" and what/where is "Sheol"?  - Genesis 37:35,  Ecc 9:10, Isaiah 25:8, 26:19

"What is our Soul"?

Christ transformed everything on the cross... 1 Peter 4:4-6, 2 Peter 2:4-5, 1 Peter 3:18-20

God's word gives us several certainties regarding what hpppens after death:

1: When we die, we are aware. (Hebrews 12:23, Luke 23:43, 2 Corinthians 5:8, Phillippians 1:23) ...

2: After we die, the wicked are NOT annihiliated. Those who die apart from Christ face eternal torment.  (Matthew 5:25, John 5:28-29, Acts 25:15, Revelation 20)

3: The idea that all are saved, that there is a "universal reconcilliation" doesn't fit with scripture.

4: There is no scripture that illustrates a "second chance" theology, givig as an opportunity to meet or choose Christ after we die.

5: The concept of Purgatory is not supported by scripture.

1 Corinthians 15

The New Testament says... that there is nothing that should stop us from following Christ.  There's nothing that is too fearful, nothing that is too difficult, nothing that is too discouraging, because we just know that; one day, we will rise again and be with Jesus forever.
